Dr. Xenia Schmahl is responsible for the Plug and Play Insurtech innovation platform in the EMEA region. In this role, she brings together established companies and innovative startups to work on business development and digital transformation projects. In 2017, she initiated Plug and Play's Insurtech program after completing her PhD with a focus on startups and gaining experience in venture capital. One of the latest achievements of her team is the transformation of the portfolio startup "Vesttoo" into a "Unicorn". This investment was made in 2022 and reached a company valuation > €1bn in 2023.
